ANDRE PROSPERE

Executive Director, 1992 - 2019

 

Andre is a native New Yorker but has called Atlanta home for the past thirty-one years. A graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo with a degree in Management Information Systems, Andre retired from a 24-year career with Hewlett Packard Corporation in 2012 and transitioned into the field of Education. Having earned his Master’s degree in School Counseling from Capella University and his Educational Specialist Degree in Professional School Counseling from the University of Georgia, he is currently employed as a High School Counselor at Central Gwinnett High School in the Gwinnett County Public School District.

 

For twenty-seven years, Andre served as the Executive Director of the Miss Fulton County Scholarship Pageant, and in the summer of 2019, Andre was appointed to the title of Field Director for the Miss Georgia Organization. He is certified as a judge in the Miss America system through the state of Georgia and has judged Miss America local preliminaries in seven states throughout the Southeast and Midwest. He has also judged Miss America and Outstanding Teen state pageants in West Virginia, New Hampshire, South Dakota, Virginia and most recently, Connecticut. Andre has extensive training in many forms of dance including Tap, Jazz, Ballet and African and he has volunteered his time and talents to the Onyx Dance Company. 

 

Andre is involved in many social and civic organizations including Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. where he has served as Chapter President and on the Financial Team for both the Georgia District and the Southern Region of the fraternity. Andre attends church at Hillside Chapel and Truth Center in Atlanta where for the past twenty-two years he has served as the Assistant Director of the teenage auxiliary, The Youth of Truth.
